What Shoe Size Converter does, with a checked example
Shoe sizes are regional conventions, not one universal measurement, and this tool translates between them with a standard reference table: US, UK, and EU numbers plus foot length in centimeters, on separate scales for men, women, and children. Pick the group, enter a size in any of the four systems, and read off the equivalents. The part that catches people out: the US-to-UK offset differs by group, so a US 9 is a UK 8 in men's but a UK 7 in women's, and the table is a common reference, not a promise about any one brand's labeling.
Worked example
A concrete input and expected output from the current implementation.
->
Expected output
UK 8, EU 42, foot length 27 cm
US men's numbering sits one below the UK column (UK 8 for a US 9), 33 below the EU column (EU 42), and 18 below the centimeter column (27 cm), which is exactly the reference row for a US men's 9. Of the four figures, the EU value is the one most likely to differ on a brand's own chart, where 42.5 appears for this size.
