Blocks, sashing, and borders
For each piece type the tool adds a 1/4-inch seam allowance to every edge (a 12-inch finished block becomes a 12.5-inch cut square), counts how many of those cut pieces fit across the fabric's usable width, converts the strip length from inches to yards, and rounds up to a standard cut increment. Changing the assumed fabric width can flip the pieces-per-row count and change the yardage by a full strip.
