The router or operating system may show a private address used only inside the local network, such as an address assigned to one device over Wi-Fi. NAT, a carrier gateway, a corporate proxy, or a VPN can translate the local address before traffic reaches public sites.

Why is no IPv6 address shown?

The current browser path may be using only IPv4, even if the device supports IPv6. The access network, router configuration, VPN, proxy, or current route can affect which address family is available.
