GPS Location Remover prepares a photo for sharing by stripping embedded coordinates and other location data. It targets metadata associated with the file, not the visible scene. Processing occurs in the browser, so the selected photo is not uploaded for cleaning. The important surprise is that removing GPS data does not make a photo anonymous. A recognizable landmark, street sign, house number, filename, caption, or copy already held by a cloud service can still reveal where the image came from.
Exif GPS records can express latitude and longitude using degree, minute, and second values plus north or south and east or west references. The GPS record can also contain altitude, time, direction, and map-datum fields. This tool strips location-bearing metadata from the processed photo. It does not derive, blur, or conceal places visible in the image pixels.
Removal is scoped to the photo being processed. Use the resulting file as the copy that you share. The original file, previous exports, existing message attachments, backups, and cloud-library versions are separate copies and are not retroactively cleaned. Opening the result in another editor or photo manager may produce a later export with metadata supplied by that application.
