View metadata (title, author, publisher, ISBN, cover) from EPUB e-book files.
An EPUB does not have to advertise the same facts shown on its title page. This viewer inspects a selected .epub file and reports the publication metadata recorded in its package, including title, author or creator, publisher, identifiers such as ISBN, and a declared cover when available. Because the file is examined in the browser, it stays on the device. The common surprise is that missing or incorrect results usually reflect the EPUB's own declarations; the viewer does not reconstruct or verify bibliographic facts.
An EPUB container identifies a package document that describes the publication. The viewer reads the metadata declared in that document and presents available values such as title, creator, publisher, and identifiers. These fields are separate from the visible book content, so they need not match the filename, cover lettering, copyright page, or title page.
A displayed cover comes from a cover resource associated with the EPUB package. An ISBN can be reported when the stored metadata identifies one, but publication identifiers may instead be UUIDs, vendor identifiers, or other strings. The viewer extracts what the EPUB declares; it does not look up an identifier in an external bookseller, publisher, or library catalog.
No. It is a metadata inspector, not an EPUB editor. It shows information already stored in the selected publication without rewriting the file. To correct a value, edit the EPUB with an appropriate authoring or packaging tool, save a new copy, and inspect that copy again to confirm the declarations.
An ISBN is not required to be present in EPUB package metadata. The file may use a UUID or another identifier, or the ISBN may appear only as visible text on a copyright page. No result therefore means the viewer did not find usable ISBN metadata; it does not prove that no ISBN was assigned.
